October Fishing Derby

For nearly a decade, the Mianus Chapter has hosted a fishing derby for members of Connecticut Special Olympics at Merwin Meadows Park in Wilton. Considered one of the most rewarding events the chapter holds each year, the derby allows the athletes a chance to catch trout, bass and bluegills and compete for cash prizes to help pay for the training of their Special Olympics team. Along with providing the fishing gear and on the water fishing expertise, the Chapter sponsors a $1,000 scholarship for the event.
