Mianus Chapter Education Initiatives
• Trout in the Classroom
The Mianus chapter currently runs an active trout hatchery in Wilton High School and is looking to exapnd the program to other area schools. Students raise trout in a large tank in the school, and also learn about water quality, insect life in the rivers and the entire ecosystem.

• Mianus River Study
Students from Eastern Middle School in Greenwich are taken on a field trip each year to the Mianus River. At the river, the students capture insects from the river, take water samples and work to determine the overall health of the stream. The day helps reinforce the lessons the students learn in the classroom and see the impacts of human activity in a living river system.

If you take care of the fish, the fishing will take care of itself.
