| Trout Unlimited
is a national Organization devoted to conserving, protecting, and
restoring our coldwater fisheries. With more than 120,000 members,
it is composed of over 400 local chapters of which 9 are in
Connecticut. The Mianus Chapter has over 500 members living in the
Greenwich, Stamford, Darien, Norwalk, New Canaan and Wilton
communities. (We do a little saltwater fly fishing too!) 
The Mianus Chapter is involved with these
activities:
 | Restoration of the trout habitat in the
Mianus, Rippowam and Norwalk rivers. |
 | Keeping our rivers and their banks free from
pollution. |
 | New CT Trout Regulations |
 | Fly fishing and fly tying classes

 | Monthly informational chapter meeting to
which the public is invited |
 | NY, MA, and CT fishing trips |
 | Annual fishing derby for handicapped
children. |
 | Helping the D.E.P. stock Brook Trout, Brown
Trout, and Rainbow Trout in Connecticut rivers with hatchery
fish. |
 | Working with state and local governments to
provide fish ladders to allow passage of anadromous fish to
freshwater spawning grounds. |
