about us
Trout Unlimited is a national Organization devoted to conserving, protecting, and restoring our coldwater fisheries. With more than 120,000 members, it is composed of over 400 local chapters of which 9 are in Connecticut. The Mianus Chapter has over 500 members living in the Greenwich, Stamford, Darien, Norwalk, New Canaan and Wilton communities.  (We do a little saltwater fly fishing too!)

The Mianus Chapter is involved with these activities:

bulletRestoration of the trout habitat in the Mianus, Rippowam and Norwalk rivers.
bulletKeeping our rivers and their banks free from pollution.
bulletNew CT Trout Regulations
bulletFly fishing and fly tying classes
bulletMonthly informational chapter meeting to which the public is invited
bulletNY, MA, and CT fishing trips
bulletAnnual fishing derby for handicapped children.
bulletHelping the D.E.P. stock Brook Trout, Brown Trout, and Rainbow Trout in Connecticut rivers with hatchery fish.
bulletWorking with state and local governments to provide fish ladders to allow passage of anadromous fish to freshwater spawning grounds.
